We left our apartment by 10 am for the 2 hour drive to Rome airport to say arrivederci to our rental car!  We checked into our hotel, Hotel Emmaus, which was a short walk away from the Vatican!  We had lunch near the Piazza del Risorgimento.  Although the walk wasn’t far, we were glad to be seated inside with air conditioning!  Given the outside temperature in the high 90’s, we welcomed an afternoon siesta!  We had a lovely dinner on Piazza Navona and enjoyed watching the street artists!

  Monday, June 19th Even though our flights were slightly delayed, we arrived on-time at a little after 10 am!    Luckily by the time we went through customs & taxied to our hotel (Wren Urban Nest, Dublin’s most sustainable place to stay) in the Temple Bar area, we were able to check-in early and take a much-needed nap!    Once refreshed, we walked along side the River Liffey to the Jeanie Johnston, a typical ship emigrants during the Potato Famine took to sail across the Atlantic, to stretch our legs and start familiarizing ourselves with the city, home to Bono, James Joyce & Guinness!    We sauntered down Grafton Street, a pedestrian friendly zone, had a flight at the Irish Whiskey Museum & popped into The Temple Bar for a pint!    We enjoyed our dinner in the homey ambiance of the Shack Restaurant across the street from the Bar!    By the end of the day, we were convinced our taxi driver was right…Ireland has been ove...
